Trimline Systems

Established since 1995, Trimline Systems, operating as Autopaint4U, uses state-of-the-art techniques for a range of cosmetic repairs to vehicle exterior and interiors. The company operates in the Sussex area, covering a triangular area bounded by the towns of Littlehampton, Bexhill and Crawley.

Available services include paintless dent removal, although this is generally done at Trimline's premises; repairs to scuffed, split and damaged bumpers; small bodywork scrapes, scratches and stone chips; repairs to kerbed or corroded alloy wheels; dashboards and centre consoles; velour, vinyl and leather seating, including Connollising. And occasionally, Trimline have been asked to work on more unusual items including TV casings, motorcycles and caravans!

Of course, the great advantage is the flexibility of the service which will almost invariably save you both time and money compared to a traditional bodyshop…if you need a quote in advance, you can even email a picture of the damage.

"... we looked around for someone to come and fix a couple of small problems with one of our MINIs, ending up in the very capable hands of Peter Lesbirel and Martin at Autopaint4u (Trimline Systems) in Burgess Hill.
Our Mini had an ugly scuff on the passenger door, typical damage caused by careless parking, as well as what looked like a deep scratch on the driver's door mirror shell. Both of these problems were easily solved although the fact that the MINI has no creases, mouldings or swage lines on the door meant that the whole of the door panel had to be repainted.
What did the repairs cost? Well, a painted mirror shell from BMW costs in excess of £100 so Peter's quote of £35 for repairing and repainting the existing damaged unit seemed like a bargain, and £165 (plus VAT) to deal with the door panel also didn't seem excessive and we were delighted with the results.

Smart Repairs, which originated in the USA, have been available in the UK for more than 10 years now. Typical repairs include:

• Paintless dent removal techniques; as long as the surface of the paint is not broken, small dents, creases and dings can be invisibly repaired
• Stone chips and car scratches can be repaired using accurately colour-matched paints for a showroom finish
• Scuffs, car scratches, splits, cracks, etc on plastic bumper and exterior trim parts
• Splits, burns and cracks to leather, vinyl and velour interior trim
• Re-colouring and 'feeding' of dried-out leather seats and trim
• Repair and refurbishment of alloy wheels, including removing minor kerb damage and restoring deteriorating paint and lacquer finishes
